Mission/Values

Mission

As our nation’s healthcare industry undergoes increasingly rapid change and the demand for emergency medical care increases, one truth that remains constant is this: All patients deserve access to high-quality emergency medical care.

Independent freestanding emergency centers (FECs) offer patients valuable, life-saving care in a time of crisis, while also relieving congestion at hospital-based emergency rooms. Often, the care provided at independent FECs is delivered in substantially less time than it would otherwise be in a traditional ER setting.

As an association consisting of industry experts, the Texas Association of Freestanding Emergency Centers (TAFEC) aims to foster an environment of collaboration, innovation, and engagement to ensure that patients continually have access to high-quality emergency care options, 24/7.

TAFEC is committed to safeguarding, supporting, and strengthening freestanding emergency centers, and leading with a united voice for the independent freestanding emergency center industry in Texas.

Vision

The Texas Association of Freestanding Emergency Centers is committed to advocating for fair local, state, and federal regulation through public affairs and policy engagement.

TAFEC is dedicated to raising statewide awareness of freestanding emergency centers as an always accessible, high-quality emergency medical care option.
