From the corporate world to the trenches of the Emergency Department, Nick Peters, MD FACEP has found a home in freestanding emergency centers with Advance ER. Serving the Dallas communities of the Park Cities and North Dallas with the first two sites, Advance ER is excited for continued expansion.

After nine years of clinical experience with the Baylor Healthcare System, Peters entered the world of administration as Medical Director and ED Chairman of Memorial Hermann SW, followed by being a Regional Medical Director with EmCare then Concentra. Then as Vice President of Medical Operations with Concentra, he lived the corporate side of medicine. Peters remembers, “I had been deep in the corporate world for 10 years when I was introduced to freestanding emergency centers by a colleague and I never looked back”.

"I wanted to go beyond the usual freestanding and add the extra touches for true concierge-style emergency medicine." This goal has made Advance ER a unique boutique emergency care practice with a neighborhood touch - owned and operated by a group of Board Certified Emergency Room Physicians who live in the Dallas communities they serve.

TAFEC and it's dedicated staff was an important ally. "Interacting with Brad Shields and his team has been a pleasure by allowing input into the future of the industry with TAFEC's legislature works. It also allows for productive interactions between the various groups.”

When asked about the future, Peters responds, "There are times I miss the fast pace of a hospital emergency department. Still, it is a relief to be able to concentrate on the person in front of me, which is very hard to accomplish in large trauma centers." This is the key niche Advance ER fills, taking the freestanding emergency center to a new level with the personal touch concierge-style fills. Peters adds, "I have a fantastic group of physician partners that enjoy getting to know their patients."

"Being the new kid on the block only invigorates me with plans to expand well along the way". Peters adds, "It's a great time to be here and I'm optimistic that the well run freestanding emergency centers will be an important part of the community for a long time to come."
