A Day in the Life: Annie Kovatch

Annie Kovatch

Hello, my name is Annie Kovatch, I am the Charge nurse at Golden Triangle Emergency Center in Port Arthur.

My average day at the facility consists of checking to make sure everything is in working order, cleaning and organizing what's left on the nurses station, calling patients back to check up on them, doing QA, ordering supplies, and catching up with my coworkers after 8 days off.

My favorite part of the day is lunch...kidding! I like when children who don’t have major injuries come in because they are typically a lot of fun.

Lately we have seen a lot of sick patients due to the constantly changing weather. We can do just about everything a hospital based ER can, from minor to major injuries.

Our front desk staff is great, they are the first people the patients get to interact with. We're a team here so we look out for each other and help out when we can, allowing us time to talk and bond with our patients.

Maybe it's the 72+ hours we spend with each other every other week but we all look forward to our shifts and the people we work with. We really are a family here.
