A Day in the Life: Angela Webb - RN

Angela Webb

I have been with Golden Triangle since its inception in July of 2014 for the Port Arthur location, and April of 2015 for my current Orange location.

I absolutely love my job! I lead the entire amazing Golden Triangle Crew, and also work as a staff nurse on the floor rotating between facilities.

Running two, and soon to be three, facilities can be very busy and hectic at times, but that is why I’m an ER nurse.

On a typical, non-staff nurse day, I usually visit with my employees, catch up on emails, order clinical supplies, etc. Normally my days are packed full with meetings and conference calls. When I am not in a meeting I am helping Kari, our Marketing Director, with promoting our business.

If I am working as a staff nurse, I do lab duties, check the crash carts, count in the pharmacy, and most importantly, treat the patients.

Golden Triangle Emergency Center is an ER facility, so we treat any and all injuries and ailments. We see a wide variety of patients ranging from minor issues such as lacerations and fractures, to critical conditions such as strokes, STEMI’s, car accidents, and SEPSIS patients.

Some of the typical treatments and procedures that we do are incisions and drainage, laceration repairs, splinting, EKG, CT SCANS, ultrasounds, X-Rays, intubations, STEMI and stroke protocols, observation, and much more. Medication treatments range from simple oral medicines to intramuscular and IV therapy. We can even do aerosol treatments and nebulizers for respiratory sicknesses.

This is one of the many reasons I love working in the ER. It’s never the same and there is always a new face and challenge ahead of me. I also really enjoy getting to meet so many different people from all over.

One of the most positive points of working at a freestanding emergency center is the quality time I get to spend with patients. Previously, I worked in very busy hospitals where I saw more than eight patients an hour, which left me with very limited bedside time with patients.

Working at GTEC, I actually have time to sit with my patients and delivery quality care. I get to know them and interact with them more. We follow up with phone calls to see how patients are doing after they leave our facility. We also ensure they have proper follow up instructions and are taken care of all the way to the end of their treatment plan.

When asked what I am most proud of in starting these facilities, I reply without hesitation, “My staff.” My team is the best. You can build a high quality facility, but without a capable, cohesive team that can function and work together, the delivery of care would not be the same.

Our team stands ready to provide efficient top-notch customer service and quality patient care. We work not only to effectively treat our patients, but to make improvements and better our services for the communities we serve.
