I received my Bachelor of Science decree in Wildlife Biology from Western Illinois University and went on to study medicine at Southern Illinois University.  It was in medical school that I realized my passion for emergency medicine.  I appreciated that emergency physicians had to know so much about every aspect of medicine, while also be prepared to handle medical emergencies no matter where they occur.

I received my formal emergency medicine education at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas as an active duty member of the U.S. military.  I went on to serve as an emergency physician at Keesler AFB on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and abroad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  I’ve remained a Texas resident since leaving the service in 2007.

My goal is to provide compassionate emergency care to every patient in an efficient manner.  For me, freestanding emergency centers are an opportunity to show patients a different experience and a new way of receiving great care.  With more streamlined, patient-centric processes, we provide quality emergency care with an emphasis on personal connection in a friendly, more inviting atmosphere.

Being a member of the TAFEC community has been crucial for our organization.  TAFEC provides a platform for us to grow and support our industry as well as educate the public and lawmakers about the many benefits of the FSEC model.
