Thank you to each TAFEC member who attended our most recent Membership Meeting, which took place on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas. Before kicking off the meeting, attendees enjoyed lunch on the Zilker Terrace at the hotel.
Topics covered during the TAFEC Membership Meeting included the following:
- An update on industry-wide best practices from one of TAFEC’s internal committees
- An update on the primary elections, as Super Tuesday was the night before
- A recap of our November Membership Meeting
- A communications presentation on the freestanding emergency center industry
- Rollout of TAFEC’s new Take the Tour Challenge campaign
- A presentation from TAFEC sponsor Healthsure
- Updates from the Texas Department of Insurance and the Texas College of Emergency Physicians
Because our organization continues to grow rapidly, these meetings also provide an outlet for members to network and discuss all the success and struggles that come along with operating freestanding emergency centers. As the meeting wrapped, our members headed over to a much-deserved reception, before taking part in an evening cruise along the beautiful Lady Bird Lake.
It was wonderful to get everyone together, and nice to see so many new faces. Again, thanks to all who made the event a success!
