Dr. David Mendelson is a residency-trained, board-certified emergency physician who followed his medical training with the completion of an administrative fellowship. During 22 years of practice, he has been very involved with the administrative side of medicine in an effort to make practices better for the physicians, nurses, and APPs he works with. His most recent responsibilities comprised the management of 30 hospital-based practices including emergency medicine, anesthesiology, pediatrics, and inpatient services. These practices ranged from urban tertiary care hospitals to freestanding emergency centers. His team has been able to improve flow, efficiency, and patient satisfaction in the practices he managed.

Emergis ER, LLC is a culmination of the integration of Provident Realty Advisors (a real estate investment group with investments in Pharmacy, O&P, Memory Care) and Medcore Partners, LLC, a company with unique market analysis skills. A standard approach by his team is to spend a great deal of time up front getting to know the providers, nurses, ancillary staff, and administration at each practice / facility. They also make it a priority to build great relationships with the medical and local community, while ensuring patient safety and providing an excellent patient experience.

Using input from all departments that “touch” the emergency room enables Emergis ER to understand the various needs, challenges, and opportunities involved in the operations of a practice. This has also led to an understanding of what needs exist in the local community.

The biggest challenges of managing and operating freestanding emergency centers for Emergis has been how to plan for the future legislative changes in the industry, which is why being a TAFEC member is so beneficial. Emergis would not be in existence without the knowledge of the industry and relationship gained through attending TAFEC / NAFEC meetings and conferences. It has been invaluable in understanding processes, selecting vendors, and building relationships. TAFEC / NAFEC are great partners for our team.
