SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT: CMR

CMR is an Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) that began more than 20 years ago with the vision and efforts of Dr. Cris Mandry, a residency-trained and board-certified physician, who is the founder of a Regional Emergency Physician Group, C&M Medical Services in Metairie, LA. Dr. Mandry is also the founding program director of the Louisiana State University Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Baton Rouge, LA.

Because the clinicians behind the development of CMR understand the unique dynamics and challenges of the emergency department and have practiced emergency medicine with several different systems, they understand the frustration with having to spend time learning a new system that does not make sense clinically. CMR offers a user-friendly, intuitive documentation system with advanced, comprehensive functionality, including clinical decision support and risk-management tools.

As more freestanding emergency centers (FECs) open up across the country to help alleviate ER overcrowding and offer patients better access to services and care, many are deploying the same information technology solutions utilized in large hospital-affiliated emergency departments. By having immediate access to prior visits, lab results, allergy and medication interaction alerts, and other critical information, FECs see this technology as having a positive impact on providing the best and most efficient care possible to their patients. The challenges of tracking all facility charges, customized formularies, and efficient documentation are solved with the use of CMR.

CMR has been successfully implemented in multiple ED settings, from large regional medical centers to small rural departments. Since opening our first site in 2009, we have grown quickly to 17 FECs in Texas. Our continued success is in part due to our own personal ongoing clinical use of the record, as well as excellent support of the facilities we serve.

Our own continued clinical use and collaboration with our partner sites ensures that there is total commitment to continued development and our product improvement ensures that CMR fully meets the most current needs of your FEC, as well as your needs in the future.

Becoming sponsors of TAFEC has provided us with additional opportunities to collaborate with professionals in the FEC industry and expand our position in the marketplace. The experience of working with the industry has enabled CMR to grow and provide a complete solution for the unique needs of FECs.
